Pinewood Derby

Sunday was Pack 277's yearly Pinewood Derby - a Scout tradition! 16 Scouts competed along with 10 Outlaws. The Outlaws included sibling cars and even some cars that parents raced as kids! For Pinewood Derby, Scouts start with a small wood block, a set of wheels, and some nails to use as axels. Using their imaginations, Scouts work with their parents to make a dream car. It's always fun to see all of the creative designs! Some Scouts focus on awesome paint jobs. Some focus on wedges designed for speed. While this is a competitive event - complete with trophies for speed and design - we encourage Scouts to focus on “Doing Their Best” and good sportsmanship. Congrats to Lillian, Shepard and Levi for being the top 3 in Speed! And congrats to Sophia, Gavin and Miles for being voted on as Best in Show for design!
