What We Do
Adventures, Camping, Events, and Outings
In addition to Adventures, Pack 277 tries to have an outing, event, or campout at least once per month.

Adventures
Adventures are what we call the main activities Scouts work on during Den Meetings. Cub Scouts work on Adventures that are specific to their grade and rank. Completion of Adventures is how the aims of character, citizenship, leadership, and personal fitness are developed. For each Adventure completed, Scouts receive a belt loop or patch.

Camping
Scouts love camping and the outdoors - or at least the promise of s'mores! It’s a refreshing change of pace and it offers opportunities to try something new. All of our camping is family camping - non-scout siblings are welcome! Our Pack typically goes camping 2-3 times per year, always including a “Fall Family” and “Spring Family” council-wide camp weekend at Bert Adams Scout Camp.
Concerned about your first time camping? We’re here to help! Our Pack typically covers all of the cooking so you only need to bring your personal gear. Bert Adams also offers Adventure Tents which have an electrical outlet.

Pinewood Derby
Dream It - Build It - Race It!
Every year, Scouts - with the help of their parents - turn a small pine wood block into a racing machine. Do they focus on speed? Or design? Or both?
While this is a competitive event - complete with trophies - we encourage Scouts to focus on “Doing Their Best” which is the Cub Scout motto. It's also a great opportunity to learn about sportsmanship.
Service Opportunites
Volunteering to make our community and country better is part of being both a Scout and a good citizen. Pack 277 encourages participation in sevice events throught the year - from placing flags at the Veterans Cemetary for Memorial Day to watering school gardens to collecting coke tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Blue & Gold Banquet
During February, Cub Scout Packs celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the BSA on February 8, 1910. It's a birthday party for Scouts!
Every year is a little different based on what our Scouts are interested in - but there is always cake! This past year we had My Reptile Guys come and show off some of their scaly friends.
Other Events, Hikes, & Outings
Our Pack and Den groups will periodically schedule additional outings and events to keep Scouts active, having fun, and engaging their community. Part of the scouting program involves service to the community and outdoor activities, so lookout for communications from your Den leader to participate in activities that meet these requirements.
