About Pack 277

Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 277!

At our core, we believe that Cub Scouting should be fun and engaging for every child. Our program is designed to introduce boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade to new skills and interests through hands-on activities, outdoor adventures, sports, and crafts. We welcome Scouts from all local schools and religious backgrounds. We meet on Sunday afternoons at 2pm at Marietta FUMC.

Our Pack is organized into Dens according to grade levels, creating an environment where Cub Scouts can develop new skills and interests, practice sportsmanship and good citizenship, and learn to do their best, not just for themselves but for their Den as well.

We value the role of family in Cub Scouting. Whether a Scout lives with two parents, a single parent, a foster family, or other relatives, their family is an important part of Cub Scouting. Parents and guardians provide leadership, support and collaboration, helping to ensure a positive experience for every Scout in our Pack.

As we work through our adventures, Scouts will be recognized for their hard work. The advancement plan provides fun for the Scouts and gives them a sense of personal achievement as they earn belt loops and badges to display on their uniform.

Join us at Cub Scout Pack 277, where adventure, learning, and fun come together to create lasting memories!

Annual Dues

Each year, Cub Scouts pay 2 fees. The first is National Dues which are $85 per year as of 2025. This fee helps cover the cost of essential services to the local council and units. Services include expanded liability insurance for those participating in approved Scouting activities, background checks and a variety of program resources. If you would like to receive the Scout Life Magazine, it's an additional $10 ($95 total).

The second is Pack Dues which are $120 per year as of 2025. This is the money that helps our Pack run. It covers a Pack 277 t-shirt, a neckerchief, a Pinewood Derby car kit and the belt loops and patches that Scouts earn throughout the year. It also helps cover the cost of hosting Blue & Gold, buying Pinewood Derby trophies, snacks for Pack meetings and any other items that our Pack needs to create a great program.

If your family chooses to participate in fall and spring camping weekends offered at Bert Adams Scout Camp, that is a separate cost. The average cost is $30 per Scout/siblings and $15 per adult. Food is typically $10-15 per person for the Saturday at camp. The Atlanta Area Council also offers Scout events throughout the year (like Scout Braves games, STEM Days, etc) - these are also a separate cost.

No child should be denied the opportunity to participate in Cub Scouts due to financial hardship. In the event that you need financial assistance, please speak with our Pack Cubmaster or Committee Chair about our scholarship program.

Pack Fundraising

Our Pack participates in 2 annual BSA fundraisers: selling Trails End Popcorn and selling Scout Camp Cards.

The popcorn fundraiser occurs in the fall beginning in September and wraps up in November. Our Pack earns 15% to 30% on all popcorn sold. During the popcorn fundraiser, you will get an invite to register your Scout at Trails-End.com. After registering, you can promote online sales to friends and family outside of your area. All popcorn show-and-sell (in-person) events will be available for sign-up via the app/site. You can also check-out popcorn from the Pack to sell in your neighborhood. More information will be shared during popcorn kickoff.

Scout Camp Cards occur in mid-January and ends in April. Our Pack receive 50% of all Scout Camp Cards proceeds. They are typically $10 apiece and have deals for local businesses.

Money raised during our popcorn and camp card fundraiser supplements the Pack dues and allows the Pack to provide a more enriched program throughout the year without as much of a monetary burden on our families. Fundraising is also a valuable experience for Scouts to learn about selling, counting money, and working on their presentation and speaking skills.
